PANEL DISCUSSIONS
The 1916 Company has always believed that collecting is deepened by conversation. During this year’s edition of Madison Avenue Watch Week, we will host two panels that approach the watch world from different angles – one being community first – exploring collecting through the lens of the people who inhabit this world – and the other product first – discussing the mechanics of building a meaningful collection. Panel times and details are included below.

PANEL 1
Friday, May 1 | 4pm-5pm
Collecting Conversations and Endless Discovery with The 1916 Company
More Than Buzzwords: Authenticity and Community A Conversation with C’Q Gottlieb and Dhani Jones “Authenticity” gets used a lot in watch culture. So does “community.” But what do they actually mean, and what happens when a brand, a collector, or a conversation falls short of both? Dhani Jones – entrepreneur, philanthropist, former NFL linebacker, and watch collector – joins The 1916 Company’s C’Q Gottlieb for an honest dialogue about what draws people to watches, what keeps them there, and what it looks like when a collecting community gets it right.

PANEL 2
Saturday, May 2 | 11am-12pm
Watch Collecting with Melanie Chud and Tim Mosso A Conversation about Collecting with Intention Melanie Chud, The 1916 Company’s President of Retail, brings both a collector’s sensibility and a deep understanding of how the retail landscape for serious – and not-so-serious – timepieces really works. She joins Tim Mosso for an unfiltered conversation about the decisions that define a collection: what to buy, when to hold, how taste evolves, and what the market rewards versus what it misses. A conversation for collectors at every stage.

Space is limited for both panel discussions. Kindly register in advance HERE
