The Council of Fashion Designers of America is a not-for-profit trade association founded in 1962 whose membership consists of America’s foremost womenswear, menswear, jewelry and accessory designers. Their mission is to strengthen the impact of American fashion globally by amplifying creative excellence, business longevity, and positive impact.

Steven Kolb CEO and President of CFDA

Steven Kolb is the CEO and President of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA), a trade organization representing American fashion designers. He oversees New York Fashion Week, the CFDA Fashion Awards, and business programs that promote brand growth, domestic manufacturing, and global market access. Since joining in 2006, he has expanded the CFDA’s role in industry advocacy, sustainability, and workforce development. With a background in nonprofit leadership and a master’s in public administration, Kolb advances the CFDA’s goal to increase the fashion industry’s economic impact.

While the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) serves all property owners, commercial tenants and residents within the district, only registered members may vote, elect and serve as members of the BID’s Board of Directors. According to our bylaws, registered members are Property Owners, Commercial Tenants, and Residential Tenants within the District that have filled out a membership registration card.
