Situated at the corner of Madison Avenue and 76th Street in the heart of Manhattan’s elegant Upper East Side, The Carlyle, A Rosewood Hotel has been a whimsical emblem of glamour and luxury since opening in 1930. Located just one block from Central Park, The Carlyle is a 35-story, 192-room hotel highlighted by the original Art Deco design from the renowned Dorothy Draper. For over 90 years, the hotel has been a cherished cultural landmark and a haven for both New Yorkers and visitors alike. Following a multi-year transformation of the legendary property, the hotel has recently debuted new guest rooms and suites in addition to a new signature restaurant, Dowling’s at The Carlyle. Subtle art deco inspirations are present in the new design, paying reverent homage to The Carlyle’s original designer. New York based design firm tonychi studio led the redesign of 155 of the hotel’s 192 rooms and suites. The additional 34 rooms and suites remain completely unique in design and range from the Empire Suite by the renowned designer, Thierry Despont, to new suites by New York based interior designer, Dan Fink, to the hotel’s newly acquired Presidential Suite.
