“Experiential retail has certainly taken hold of Madison Avenue,” said Matthew Bauer, President of the Madison Avenue Business Improvement District (BID). “From Gabriela Hearst creating a salon using sustainable materials perfect for neighborhood gatherings, to Ralph Lauren establishing a charming Ralph’s Coffee café in their 888 Madison Avenue flagship, to Marc Jacobs Madison installing an exhibition of his Redux Grunge Collection and an in-house café from which to savor the moment, to the opportunity to perfect your personal fragrance wardrobe at Atelier Cologne, shopping on Madison Avenue has become equal parts elegance and adventure.”

“This collection of new businesses include the first United States locations of the bespoke club E by Equinox and Australian fashion brand Joe Bananas,” noted Bauer. “We are also pleased to welcome Le Bilboquet’s Fleming restaurant, created by Philippe Delgrange and Ronald O. Perelman as an intimate location for fine French cuisine. Madison Avenue’s strength as one of the world’s largest art districts grew with the creation of both the Christopher Martin and Gmurzynska galleries this season. Mackage will fulfill the trajectory of pop-up to permanent when they open a permanent location later this winter at 814 Madison Avenue after a holiday season residence.”
